Courtney Lorey manages internal communications, research projects, and program support across the Pristine Seas team. Before joining the National Geographic Society, Lorey was a policy intern at Oceana, worked as a fisheries observer for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, and interned with Pristine Seas in 2019. Lorey graduated from the College of William & Mary with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Marine Science. She has field experience studying phytoplankton along the Atlantic continental shelf and zooplankton along the West Antarctic Peninsula.
