Sam Deleon is a producer, editor, and camera operator with the National Geographic Pristine Seas team, where he creates documentary films that amplify local voices and inspire global ocean conservation efforts. Since joining Pristine Seas 2016, Sam has filmed across the world working alongside Inuit communities in the Arctic, documenting right whales in Patagonia, diving 350 meters deep in a submersible off the coast of Niue and snorkeling in Helen Reef in Palau. He has also had the honor of filming and interviewing with the presidents of Chile, Ecuador, Argentina and Palau.

Sam has contributed to two award-winning feature documentaries and volunteered with National Geographic Photo Camp, teaching photography and photojournalism to Venezuelan refugees in Boa Vista, Brazil and in Washington D.C.

Sam continues to push the limits of storytelling by lifting up unheard voices through collaboration with indigenous communities, powerful narratives and striking visuals.
