About this Event

Explorer and photographer Esther Horvath is fascinated by the women scientists who dedicate their lives to conducting climate research in the Arctic. She braves the winter cold to follow them on scientific expeditions and document who they are, the important work they are doing, and what life is like for them in the polar regions. Join to see Esther’s images and to learn about the incredible women who are collecting crucial climate data in the Arctic!

Explorer Classroom is an interactive session that connects learners with National Geographic Explorers for short lessons and Q&A. After the featured Explorer’s lesson, your students will have a chance to have their questions answered in real time! This event is recommended for student groups in grades 3-8, but all are welcome, and will take place on December 5th @ 10am and 2pm ET; register for the time that works best for your class. A recording of the event will be available to watch on-demand on our YouTube channel if your students cannot attend live.

Download our Explorer Mindset in Action worksheet for the students in your classroom to interact with before, during, and after your Explorer Classroom session. Find more guidance on how to use these tools in the instructions at the bottom of the web page.
